Tri-State Review

The Go Gos – Ridgefield Playhouse

The Go Go’s were absolutely FANTASTIC!

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure what to expect – were they going to phone in the live performance like so many do these days. The lights went down the crowd got up and all of a sudden you heard “We are an American Band”. Yes The Go Go’s came out to the Grand Funk Railroad  “We’re an american band”

The first one out was drummer Gina Schock wearing a metallic jacket and pumping up the crowd like no other I’ve seen in a while. Then Jane Wiedlin comes out with the Ronnie James Dio “Devil Horns” followed by Charlotte Caffey and the bubbly Belinda Carlisle.

Then the band rips into their hit “Vacation” – Belinda kicks off her shoes and the band hit the ground running. Yes, they played everything from – Our Lips Are Sealed, Cool Jerk, We Got the Beat, Head Over Heels, Get Up and Go and many others.

It’s a shame that this is their Farewell Tour but with that being said get out there and see these amazing woman live.

The Go Go’s are on tour with all the original members except for the bass player.  Filling in is Abby Travis, she’s doing a great job and keeping the beat.
