On Wednesday March 4, 2015 Dwight Yoakam performed at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, CT.

I’ve waited 29 years for this day, Dwight doesn’t play here in Connecticut much and in the past when he did stop by , I wasn’t able to see him. Tonight performance was a long time wait for me.
As most everyone knows we have been snow blizzard just about every other day here in Connecticut. That considered I thought for sure that this would be another appearance that I would have to miss. The Palace theater is an amazing place, clean warm and the employees are very welcoming.

Dwight Yoakam, for those that don’t know, is a country artist but, he’s more “Hillbilly” then what most country artists are these days. The concert was amazing, he played just about everything – well as much as a two set will allow. We were granted review tickets but no press photo pass, Dwight made mention he’s not to fond of the way he’s aging, but he did allowed everyone to use their cell phones as much as they wanted

He was on top form, I get a little worried when an artist who’s been around as long as he has puts on a concert. With some artist, it’s just a pay check – they are on stage but are phoning in their performance. Many of them look miserable and their singing is a poor version of a bad karaoke night.I have to say, Dwight really brought it all – he sounded great, look good and the band was on point. He has a new album coming out soon called “Second Hand Heart”.
Oh, and yes, Mr. Yoakam is an actor and yes, you did see him before in some of your favorite movies. He was in – Sling Blade, Panic Room, Hollywood Homicide and Wedding Crashers just to name a few.
